Current Status

BERDO 2.0 emissions standards began enforcement in 2025 for large buildings. Standards apply property-type-specific emissions intensity limits (e.g., 10.2 kg CO2e/sqft for college buildings).

Penalty

$234/metric ton CO2e; $150/day late filing
